The European Medicines Agency has begun an investigation into a potential conflict of interest after its top lawyer left to join a law firm that advises the pharmaceutical industry.
Vincenzo Salvatore quit as chief counsel of the agency on June 15, and the following week was named senior counsel to the European life sciences regulatory practice at Sidley Austin, the US-based law firm.
