New research by Corporate Europe Observatory on Veolia Environnement's EU lobbying activities in the water sector shows that Veolia Environment, the world's largest water company, does not practice its commitments to sustainability and “responsible lobbying”.

CEO has written to Veolia’s Brussels representative to demand that the company abandons its false claims until it significantly improves the transparency around its lobbying activities.

BRUSSELS, 23 March – Internal email communication by DG Trade and obtained by Corporate Europe Observatory (CEO) reveals how the EU Commission has actively orchestrated African business support for its Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) currently being negotiated with countries from Africa, the Caribbean and the Pacific. MEPs will vote on the EPA negotiations at their sitting in Strasbourg today and tomorrow.

EU officials going through Brussels' revolving door to lobby industry exposed

Brussels, 7 December 2011 – Eight new cases illustrating the extent of Brussels' revolving door problem are exposed today with the launch of the Corporate Europe Observatory's new RevolvingDoorWatch. The eight cases feature individuals who have moved through the revolving door from the European institutions, including the Commission, into private sector lobbying jobs – apparently without the proper checks or adequate restrictions being imposed.
