Big tech companies have made the public vulnerable to invasion of privacy, discrimination, and misinformation. The gas lobby has succeeded in getting the European Union to lock us in to more gas infrastructure, exacerbating the climate crisis and raising the cost of living. Pharmaceutical companies have made huge profits and prevented the sharing of technologies designed to protect public health. The chemical and agricultural lobbies have sabotaged restrictions on chemical use and reductions in pesticide consumption.

Key decisions that affect your daily life are being made on the basis of the interests of big corporations, over the needs of ordinary people. The consequences include higher energy costs, worsening climate change, reduced access to medicines, and dangerous pesticides and chemicals in your environment.

This guide reveals seven important ways in which the corporate lobby influences decision-making in the EU. It also has concrete demands to protect democratic decision-making.
