Commission President Von der Leyen's interactions with horse sector lobbyists

April 30th we wrote to the European Commission to complain about Commission President von der Leyen’s failure to comply with the Code of Conduct for Commissioners in her interactions with horse sector lobbyists. The letter, jointly with Transparency International EU, LobbyControl and the Good Lobby, argue that von der Leyen’s interactions with the European Horse Network violated the Code of Conduct for Commissioners. 

June 10th we received a response from Secretary-General Ilze Juhansone, who unfortunately dismissed our concerns. We sent a follow-up highlighting problems with arguments made in the letter and make suggestions for measures to be taken to secure reliable lobby transparency in the future.
