EC defends approval revolving doors case
In a second letter to Corporate Europe Observatory, the European Commission defends the way in which the Ad Hoc Ethical Committee handled the move of former Commissioner Ferrero-Waldner to reinsurance company Munich Re.
Earlier this week, two new controversial cases emerged of former Commissioners passing the revolving doors: former Industry Commissioner Günther Verheugen plans to move to the Royal Bank of Scotland, while Ryanair has invited former Internal Market Commissioner Charly McCreevy to join its board as a non-executive director. Both cases are reportedly still being considered by the Commission's Ad Hoc Ethical Committee.
